Easy Oven Stew

Ingredients

beef
cut up for stew

tablespoons
flour
1
teaspoon
salt
Pepper and paprika
2
tablespoons
pure vegetable oil
such as Wesson
4
small onions
4
small carrots
1
cup
sliced celery
2
8-ounce cans
Hunt’s Tomato Sauce
1
can water
Method
Sprinkle beef with flour, mixed with seasonings.
Toss with oil in a 3-quart casserole.
Bake uncovered at 400-degrees 30 minutes.
Stir once.
Add vegetables, salt, and pepper to taste.
Pour over Hunt’s Tomato Sauce and water.
Cover.
Bake at 350-degrees for 1 3/4 hours.

Notes
Variations: Vegetables – for a change, try adding 1 cup of canned peas or corn 10 minutes before serving. Meat – if you like, substitute lamb or veal for the beef. With lamb, use 5 tablespoons of flour.
