Nellie's Melt-Away Cookies
A vintage handwritten recipe for Nellie's Melt-Away Cookies made with powdered sugar, butter, sifted flour, salt, and vanilla.

- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup sifted flour with a pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt butter; add sugar, {flour,} and vanilla.
Roll up into small balls.
Put on cookie sheet, cover with a piece of wax paper and press each one with the bottom of a wine glass (the wax paper keeps the glass from sticking to the cookie).
Bake at 375-degrees until light brown.
