Carrot Brownies


1/4 cup margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup finely grated carrots


Preheat oven to 350-degrees.  Melt margarine in a saucepan; add sugar, stir until well blended. 

Remove from heat, beat in egg.  Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.  Beat flour mixture and carrots into sugar and egg mixture.  Pour into 8x8x2 inch greased pan.  

Bake 25-30 minutes.  Do not overbake.  Cut into squares while warm.
