Doris's Angel Pie


1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups boiling water
2 egg whites, beaten
1 cup pineapple, well drained
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pie shell, baked
whipped cream


1 1/4 cups sugar, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1/4 teaspoon salt, add 2 cups boiling water and boil until thickened.  Pour over 2 beaten egg whites, beat well and 1 cup well-drained crushed pineapple and 1 teaspoon vanilla.  Pour into baked pie shell and top with whipped cream.  

Serve cold.
