Ingredients
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons ketchup
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 (3-pound) broiler-fryer, cut up
Method
- Combine the first 10 ingredients in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
- Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a large oven-browning bag. Add chicken and shake to coat. Place bag in a shallow roasting pan. Open the bag and pour the sauce over chicken. Secure bag loosely with twist tie and pierce the top of the bag 6 times with a knife. Bake in a 350-oven one hour or until tender.
- Remove chicken from the bag. Pour sauce into a bowl. Serve chicken with sauce.
