Lucille Ames’ Sugar Cookies


1 cup butter or oleo
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
2 cups flour
Little salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder


Mix in order given, and seem better to place dough in icebox for several hours, when wanting roll out thin on cookie board, cut, dip each in small sauce dish with a teaspoon of sugar, about 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg well mixed, be careful to get sugar on one side (top) only as sugar will burn and stick if on bottom of dough.
