Marie's Spoon Bread

Ingredients

2 cups scalded milk
3/4 cup white cornmeal
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
4 egg whites, beaten
4 egg yolks, beaten

Method

{Combine} 2 cups scalded milk and 3/4 cup white cornmeal.  Cook and stir until smooth, remove from heat add 3 tablespoons butter, 1 teaspoon salt, let cook while beating 4 egg whites.  Beat 4 egg yolks and add to corn mixture, then fold in beaten whites.  Bake at 350-degrees for 35 minutes.  

Serve at once with creamed ham, chicken, tuna or chipped beef.
