Mother's Corn Bread

Ingredients

3/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 teaspoon sugar (pinch)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 level teaspoon baking powder

Method 

Put a pan of water on to boil.

Combine 3/4 cup cornmeal, 1/4 teaspoon sugar (pinch), 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add enough of the boiling water to the mixture until thoroughly wet. Then add 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk, 1 level teaspoon baking powder. 

Place in muffin tins or pan which have been heated and greased well.
