Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
?2? tablespoons 4X sugar
1 cup flour

2 eggs
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup nutmeats
1 cup moist shredded coconut

Method

Layer 1

Thoroughly blend ingredients – 1/2 cup butter, 2 tablespoons 4X sugar, and 1 cup flour. Spread evenly in a greased 8-inch square pan. 

Bake in a 350-degree moderate oven for 30 minutes. 

Layer 2

Beat eggs and sugar until thick, add sifted {dry} ingredients, add nuts, coconuts. Spread over 1st mixture. Bake in the oven, 350-degrees, for an additional 30 minutes. Cool in pan and cut into squares. 

Makes 2 dozen squares.
