Never Fail White Sauce


2 cups milk
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt


Scald milk in double boiler.  Blend flour, margarine, and salt into a ball and drop in hot milk.  Cover and cook for fifteen minutes over low heat.  Do not remove cover or stir.  Remove from fire, beat with egg beater until smooth.
