No Sugar Apple Pie

A vintage recipe card for an Apple Pie, with no added sugar. The pie is made with apples, frozen apple juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. This No Sugar Added Apple Pie is baked in a pie shell with a pastry topping.
No Sugar Apple Pie

Ingredients

Crust
Apples

1 12-ounce can frozen apple juice
2 tablespoons corn starch
1 teaspoon cinnamon
 

Method

Make crust - fill with cut-up apples. 

Take one 12-ounce can of frozen apple juice, pour into pan; add 2 tablespoons corn starch, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Place on stove and cook until thickened. Pour over apples and put a crust on top. 

Bake at 400-degrees for 15 minutes and turn down to 350-degrees and cook about 45 minutes to one hour. 

Note: This should be cooked in a large pie pan because the liquid will boil over. I place a piece of foil under my pie while it is cooking. I've never been able to keep it from cooking over.
