This recipe card also has a note for a Lemon Butter Cream Frosting – omit the vanilla and add two tablespoons grated lemon rind and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice for the milk. For an Orange Butter Cream Frosting, omit the vanilla and add two tablespoons grated orange rind and 3 tablespoons of orange juice for the milk.
